Sure, if you could do both things with equal attention and ability. Although this girl, getting in several accidents already, obviously cannot do two things at once efficiently and neither can most people in this world.
And to answer your question: You are still concentrating on the message itself, and the actions of typing out the message. Even though you do not have to look at the screen, you are still diverting most of your attention to get the message out quickly and accurately.
