Imagine you can write words by just sliding the pen across the letter keys that makes up words on a graphical keyboard. For example: to write “that” just slide the pen from “t” to “h”, etc. and spell out the word (without lifting up the pen!). This is a video companion to full technical paper on shape writing I co-authored and is published in the Proceedings of the ACM UIST 2004 conference. Reference: Kristensson, P.O. and Zhai, S. 2004. Seems like this could have been done with standard keys layout using the same shaped keys. since it seems to recognize sudden angular changes as keystrokes. Its basically typing without lifting up your finger or in this case stylus. Nice stuff.
