** In the United Kingdom, a graphic public service film depicting the ravages of using cell phones in cars has spread virally on the Internet.
** The four-minute sequence involves British actors and creative talent — and is part of a larger 30-minute drama produced and directed by Peter Watkins-Hughes — an award winning, former BBC TV producer who is also a lecturer for the Documentary Film & Television department at the Newport School of Art, Media and Design in Wales. He got his own students to work on this drama, which was made for — and with — the Gwent Police Department. Mr. Watkins-Hughes says the longer-version of this drama will be shown at schools this year. He is in talks with the BBC to have “COW” (named after the road in the film) – broadcast later this year.

Samsung Mobile announced the findings of 2008 Mobile Matters Survey. The survey revealed that not only are more and more parents and teens communicating through text, but for many, text messaging has actually played a role in improving their relationship.
• More than half (53%) of teens that text message think their relationship with their parents has improved because of text messaging.
• More than half (51%) of parents who text with their teens agree that they communicate more often with their kids now than they did before they began text messaging and that text messaging has actually improved their relationship.
