Is sms texting free with Yahoo Messenger ?

I have just got a very basic Nokia 1661 mobile [cell phone]. No camera, web access—–just phone and text. I have downloaded the latest version of Yahoo Messenger. The publicity with the download said texts are free. Is this true and how do I go about getting them ? My mobile phone provider is Virgin Media.

yup as far as i know it is free from da yahooo messenger
