Is there a good application for texting on an iPod touch?

I want to be able to text to my friend and they have sprint and nextel phones, so does anyone know of a good application I can install on my iPod touch that will work with their carriers. Also if u guys can give me advice on any good applications that would be cool, thanks.

i use TextFree, there’s a free version (lets u send 15 or so a day) or regular TextFree (i think its $2.99 or $5.99 for unlimited)
