I had the Nextel i580 and had an extended texting plan which allowed me to receive and send 1,000 texts. My friend just recently gave me a blackberry curve the Nextel version. What I noticed is that I can receive text messages but, not send a reply. Please let me know if you had this problem how to fix it.
if u didnt update ur serial number on ur acct that would affect u sending messages. yes it is possible to recieve them and not be able to send them because with out ur serial number on ur account the messaging system routes them differently. if ur friend still has the phone on their acct then u will not be able to put it on urs until they remove. when u update the sim give it 24-48 hrs before ur messaging works correctly

Is the volume on your Nextel i580 too soft? I can barely here mine
