I’m in a family plan and I’m the only one with texting, but I only have 250 a month. I want to know how to upgrade to unlimited to all companies and how much it costs.

I have a similar situation, I pay $10 a month for unlimited texts to Verizon customers and 500 to other carriers. I’m also in a family plan and the only one with a text plan.
I went to a Verizon store the other day looking at new phones and asked the guy essentially the same question you asked. He told me I could add texting plans to each of my phones like what I have on mine – so an extra $10 each line (or $5 for the 250 you have) – or I could pay $30 more total and each phone would have unlimited texts. I’m still thinking about it, seems kind of pricey since I’m the only one really texting much on my plan.
Anyway, that’s what I found out. Hope it helps.

I’ve done research for this but people talk about the PHONE that is best for texting. I don’t care much for the phone. I’m wondering that the best PLAN is for texting. My mom has been yelling at the family for too much texting, but its just really helpful sometimes, so I want to know what is the cheapest plan for the most messages (if possible unlimited). We only use our phones for making phone calls, and texting each other. So the phones we have now are fine, its just the plan we have is costing a bundle ($200/300 a month I think). Thanks in advance.
Cingular/At&T has a family text plan. in Az at least it is $29.99 for unlimited texting on all the phones on the family plan. =)

Depending on your plan, this can cost anywhere from 10 cents per text to 25 cents per text, keep in mind you get charged for both texts you send AND receive.
So you’ve gone over by approximately $50-$125.
