Does verizon to verizon texting charge you when sending or recieving text messages from Mexico?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under texting messages | 1 Comment »

My boyfriend is on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, and I wasn’t sure if texting would charge extra for international texting. We both are on verizon plans, and usually are not charged for texting. Does anyone know what charges would (or hopefully wouldn’t, lol) apply? Thanks!

I think it depends on your plan. I have the premium plan which includes everything and mobile to mobile isnt supposed to cost you anything on Verizon.

Is there any way to block a number from texting your cell phone?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under texting phone | 3 Comments »

This is kinda stupid, but my friend gave her number to this guy, she met at school, who turned out to be really creepy and now he’s texting her phone a lot and won’t leave her alone. Is there any way that a number can be blocked from texting her? thanks.

you can’t block texts from a number. she’ll need to tell him to back off. and possibly change her phone number if he doesn’t stop

Where can I buy the Verizon $10 Unlimited Messaging prepaid card for texting?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under texting messaging | 6 Comments »

Almost every time I go to walmart they are sold out. I have tried 2 Verizon stores, radio shack and a speedway gas station and they don’t sell them. Does anyone know anywhere on the internet or what stores sell them?

Try the Verizon website. You might be able to buy it there. Other wise, call *611 from your verizon phone (customer service), and they might be able to help you. If you can’t call from a Verizon phone, they will have a "1-800" number on their website for you, instead. Good luck!

Using a Boost Mobile phone on a Nextel network.

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under nextel texting | 1 Comment »

I have the i425 from boost and its unlocked for use with nextel but I cant seem to get texting to work the way it should. When I receive a new text, it goes into the Net Alerts folder and opens in my browser. Any ideas?

Try restoring the phone back to factory setting or do a master reset on the phone and that should solve the problem, if the problem still persists then the carrier about this.

what do you think about using abbreviations when texting, yahoo answers, email.?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under texting abbreviations | 11 Comments »

is anyone else concerned because people are going from tnxs and lol to whutz, youz. i wonder if these people use these spellings for term papers, holiday cards, snail mail i do not think some people know how to spell these and may more words correctly. do these people even use spell checker or the spelling memorized from school? i will make sure my eight year old knows when to use text abbreviations and when not to and knowthe correct spelling regardless what form of communication. I sound like my mother but today this is out of control>
ok. i do not use capitalization when using yahoo. i am addressing just the spelling aspect. my grammar is not always the best but neither do i purposely use abbreviations anywhere (except ms., mr., mrs.) nor do ithe purposely misspell words. the english launguage is already confusling when it comes to differnt ways to spell same sounding words.

For me, using abbreviations depends on a number of things.
1. Who I’m talking to.
2. What subject we’re talking about.
and 3. What electronic I’m using. (Sending e-mail, texting, yahoo answers, etc.)

When I’m talking with some of my friends and we’re chatting and joking around, I use things like "lol" and "kewl". If we’re not joking around and talking about more serious matters, then I don’t use abbreviations as a way to basically say, "I’m here, I’m listening and I’m dead darn serious about what I’m talking about." If I’m sending an e-mail, I NEVER use abbreviations, because it might confuse people when they read my message. I also never use abbreviations during school, writing letters, writing about myself on a website, and in things like Yahoo Answers. There is a time and place for everything, but I think everyone should know how to spell things the right way. I also hate people who use so many abbreviations that you can hardly read the message! Boy, does that get on my nerves. Hope this helps!

Do people really fall for mobile texting hoaxes like love match etc?

Text your name and that of your partner to see if you’re compatable… that pretty much translates to : are you dumb enough to give us $9 a week; until you wake up to an inflated mobile bill…

sadly they do & i’ve learnt my lesson…lol

hi i been getting texts from an anotimus texting site online how can i stop it?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under online texting | 3 Comments »

like to know how to stop anotomus texts from online sites

You mean like it’s charging you? Like you added your name by accident?

Text "cancel", "stop", or something like that. It probably won’t work but it’s worth a shot? :)

Is there a application on the App Store that gets you SMS texting to other cellphones..(for ipod touch)?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under sms texting | 2 Comments »

One that looks EXACTLY like the iphone SMS….
I just might do that

No but there is a way to text.
note: you can only text when you ha wi-fi connection with ipod touch.

first, you have to jailbreak your ipod touch on a low firmware which mean you can access the app store,
you need to jailbreak 1.1.4 and you can google it to find out how.
once you finish download an SMS app from installer
i forgot the name of it but theres alot and just search the word SMS

This takes real long to do and it take away the app store so i would not recommend doing this. so if you really want sms, get the iphone.
